Within the year film companies will force all theatres to switch to digital and will stop making movies on 35mm film. As a result, it is estimated that over half of the existing Drive-in Theatres in this country will close because of the much higher cost to equip a drive-in because of screen size and outside light conditions. Honda Motor Co. has introduced a campaign called Project Drive-in. People will vote for their favorite drive-in. The five drive-ins with the most votes will receive assistance on the digital conversion which will keep them in business and allow you to continue attending the Great American Drive-in theatre. HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP. Starting Aug. 9, 2013 thru Sept.9, 2013 you will be able to go to projectdrivein Everyday and Vote for your favorite drive-in. We are asking each of you to please take just a minute per day and vote for the Sparta Drive-in and please ask each of your friends and family members to do the same.
