Hope lies in dreams, in imagination and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality. — Jonas Salk I dream, vivid and colorful and complicated dreams, but it is rare when I remember anything in the morning. The other day, I had listened to a video with an very interesting author and his brilliant observations. During the night, I woke up and I had been dreaming. In my dream, I was at some sort of remote cabin setting and Rush Limbaugh was my host. It was a relaxed and friendly setting and he was eagerly asking me what I had in mind for my next book. I laughed out loud when I woke up, recalling bits and pieces of the dream. I have not listened to Rush Limbaugh in over fifteen years. He is not taking my calls or eager to know what I am up to…but hearing an author speak of the joy of his discovery of new and remarkable treasures must have triggered my subconscious to head out in search of new ideas and adventures of my own. So what lies beneath your own layer of every day? What is the great adventure that is calling your name? Maybe we can step out in hope restored today. Romans 5:3-5 The Message (MSG) 3-5 There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!
