Hope you all had a great Christmas folks. Its back to business today in the Premiership with 5 fixtures taking place. At Celtic Park, Ross County (11) face a big challenge in their battle to avoid the drop as they take on, champions, Celtic (1). The Hoops will be looking to bounce back from their defeat away to Dundee Utd in their last game. Its Dundee (7) v St Mirren (12) at Dens Park, with the manager-less Buddies going into the game having only avoided defeat in 4 of their 17 league games this season. Paul Hartleys side will know they must pick up 3pts against the struggling sides if they want a top 6 finish this season. Its Kilmarnock (8) v Hamilton Accies (4) down at Rugby Park with the home side on an awful run of form after such a good consistent start to the season. Accies though have bounced back from a poor period they had & are now back to winning games as they continue to challenge for the European spots. Its 10th v 9th in the table today as Motherwell (10) host Partick Thistle (9) at Fir Park. The Steelmen have opened up a slight gap on the two teams below them & will want to increase that today. The Jags will be looking for a win to push further away from being dragged there themselves & look towards getting closer to the top 6. Last seasons Scottish Cup finalists go head to head in Perth as St Johnstone (6) take on Dundee Utd (2) with the Saints wanting to get closer to the tight bunch above them in the top 5 while distancing themselves from the teams below looking to get into the top 6. Dundee Utd meanwhile will be on a high after their victory over Celtic & will be looking to build on that as they try to achieve their aim of 2nd spot....but will be aware that if they can show some consistency, they can maybe make it interesting in the battle for top spot.
