Hopefully, MAYBE, there is some evidence of an economic advance for the average person . Yesterday, the jobs numbers for November were released and nationwide they were UP BIG-- 321,000/month. And a BIG PLUS: Hours worked per week ticked up and so did average wage (0.4%). Weve had ten months straight with job growth over 200,000 per month. The unemployment rate stayed flat at 5.8%-and the populations of underemployed or discouraged workers remains unchanged. The unemployment rate was 1.2% less than a year ago, and number of unemployed was down 1.7 million. If this continues, companies might have greater confidence to hire more and to INVEST in business improvements, both of which will stimulate the economy more. Heck, maybe ENOUGH people will eventually get hired so that there is WAGE pressure and REAL competition for workers again. money.cnn/2014/12/05/news/economy/jobs-hiring/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 However, here in Alabama, where we have to bribe MILLIONS just to get a few hundred new jobs, there is little evidence these economic improvements are reaching here, as our unemployment reduction continues to be fueled by a mix of a few more jobs, and a shrinking working population, and still lags behind the U.S.
