Hopefully all those who saw the ESPN documentary last night enjoyed it. I was amazed to see how thoroughly exhausted I looked in the interview that took place in Connecticut half way through the world run. I was a total wreck. I guess that’s what running 50 km every day does to you. I was more pleased to see that I appeared to have recovered in the later interview which took place after the run. I hope to be able to post a link soon so that those who missed the doco can watch it in line. Barry and I rode 118 km today, from Binalong to Cowra. That’s more than twice as far as Barry has previously cycled, and my longest ride in more than three years. Carmel and Debbie were, of course, a great support crew. Yesterday we rode a hilly 48 km into a stiff headwind. I have seen no bulldogs during the two days of riding so far, but I have seen several rabbits. I take that as a good omen for the Rabbitohs in Sunday’s NRL Grand Final (which I will be attending). It’s a common experience – I can’t really recall a day of running into a major city that was a delight. That said, the day passed quite quickly, and was better than I expected. I am now in the southern suburbs of Buffalo. On a very different note, is there anyone out there who feels they are up to securing sponsorship of an RV (e.g. a Winnebago or similar) for the last leg of the run from Perth to Sydney? There must be some companies in Australia who would entertain this opportunity, which should give them quite a bit of exposure in return for the provision of a vehicle for three months. Let me know if you would like to give it try.
