Hopefully my 911 call prevented a bad fire. I had just turned onto 385, headed home, and just past the closed weigh station on the west side of the highway were two spirals of smoke. Slowed down and looked. Yes, a fire. Operator said no one else had called it in. Then, she tried to say I was in Andrews County. I said no, had just gotten onto 385 from the loop. Anyway, a few miles from town, Andrews fire dept is headed south. Dont know if to said fire. Hopefully, all is well. The fire was just off the shoulder and hadnt gotten to pasture yet. Hope they get it out soon. And, YES Ector 911 dispatcher, I DO know what county Im in. Hadnt even got to Gardendale or the line yet. Still in Ector County.
