Hopefully we are moving onto a NEW chapter in our D-life. Bella does NOT want anything to do with a pump. Yes she is old enough and has had diabetes long enough. (all questions people often ask me) But she doesnt want one and I will not push it on her. It is ONE decision she can make in her life. BUT after much conversation and bribery (Bribery is NOT beneath me!) She has agreed to try a CGM. This is a continual glucose monitor. It is a sensor that is inserted just below her skin and she would wear ALL the time. (YES with a NEEDLE and yes it will hurt... but needles are a part of our EVERYDAY life!) It takes a blood sugar reading every 5 minutes and can show which direction her blood sugar is going.... and we could catch her lows before she is at 40! We have had a LOT of 40s lately and even some 30s. I found a video of a 6 year old getting her CGM so that we could show people what Bella will HOPEFULLY be getting sometime here in the fall.
