Hopefully, you wont need to use this, but its best to be prepared! I have put this list together for you in the event of a severe storm, tornado, or flood. Here you go: Have flashlights ready to go and batteries. Also if you live near a creek a river or stream start watching it Wednesday morning. If a warning for flooding comes out, move to higher ground. If there is a tornado or strong storm, make sure you already have a safe room established. This is usually in a basement away from windows and under something sturdy like a desk or workbench. If you dont have a basement, go to an interior room away from windows. Sometimes hallways with all the doors closed are good. Another option is a windowless bathroom. Get in the tub and put a mattress over you. An interior closet can also be a safe room. THIS IS ONLY IF THERE IS A TORNADO WARNING ISSUED FOR YOUR AREA. If you live in a mobile home and there is a tornado, you should get out. Make plans now with a friend who has a sturdy home so if and when a warning is issued, you can quickly evacuate and head to that shelter. FLOODING: NEVER DRIVE across a flooded road. The road may not even be there! Charge cell phones and electronics and try to refill prescriptions before Tuesday night. HAVE A WELL STOCKED FIRST AID KIT. Make sure your family and friends know where you will be staying just in case. Then just keep it here - any warnings will post immediately and I will be watching for you - power or no power (backup). Tomorrow is a good day to get your plan in place. Anytime after Tue evening may be too late.
