Hopes vs. Promises Chapter 5 I looked out of the window - TopicsExpress

Hopes vs. Promises Chapter 5 I looked out of the window staring into nothingness. The view from the window was the same, lines and lines of buildings with trees swinging their arms when the wind blew. The city of Delhi where I, no WE lived was the same but we as people, had changed and evolved. My eyes were looking somewhere else but in my mind only one roll of film played the day jab we met. I looked expectantly at the door of my office that day and work seemed slower than usual but my heart was beating nineteen to a dozen ready to jump outside at the drop of a hat. When he entered I could feel a cool breeze blowing and felt as though genuinely there were guitars and saxophones playing somewhere. He came towards me and looking in my eyes instantly knew it was me and hugged me in front of everyone. After the never ending round of introductions and formalities had been completed he took my hand and we walked towards the café shop. As per the deal as he had failed to keep his promise of meeting me before going on sail, he owed me a cup of black coffee which was his favourite. While we sipped the coffee which was quite bitter at first but I soon developed a taste for it. All the while he just kept holding my hand and looking in my eyes. After we finished I excused myself to go to the washroom and realised what a horror I was looking.my clothes looked out of fashion and belonging to the 60’s era and my new kajal had got smeared making my eyes looking like bat eyes.my hair had got messy and entangled.in short I looked horrible.
