Hoping that I can get yesterdays post off this morning: If every day could be like this first day of the year, Id be a very happy person. I love being in my trailer away from the crowds. I woke up to an eagle in the tree (I think... photos later), and later found the evening habitat of the local pelicans, then a Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron! Took Kado for a long walk this morning and another one again in the afternoon. What a joy to watch him be a dog... and then go flying away from me only to turn on a dime and run back when I whistle. (The only bad part was losing my very expensive glasses along the way. But we retraced our steps and found them, so even that is a plus.) Two Makers Mark Manhattans and TJs Mac n Cheese for dinner. Kwiekje is curled up on a bean bag bed at my side and Kado is on the bed, dead out. A bit of needlework and some reading, a taste of rice pudding, then off to bed. Lovely.... just lovely.
