Horn of Salvation Luke 1:69 “And hath raised up an horn - TopicsExpress

Horn of Salvation Luke 1:69 “And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David.” A horn in God’s Word is a symbol of strength. Salvation means to rescue to safety. Combined this phrase means to have the strength to rescue to safety. The only place salvation is found is in the Lord because He is the only one with the strength (ability) save us from the wrath of God and the damnation of sin. This is why it is so important to fully realize that neither your works, your church, your religion, your prophets, your ideas, your goodness, nor anything else has the power to save you or even assist in the saving process. The salvation of a soul is only accomplished by the mighty power of God when you trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour. The practice of regeneration is consummated fully by the Spirit of God when you accept Jesus Christ into your life. A few weeks ago we took our young people in the school on a field trip to the fire department in Newark, NY. We observed and learned about the trucks and the ability they have to extinguish fires. Those massive pieces of equipment have a tremendous ability to fight even the largest of fires; they were built for that purpose. 2,000 years ago God in the flesh came to the cross of Calvary and died for the sins of men. Then upon ascension back to heaven He said, “All power is given me in heaven and in earth.” Let’s realize our squirt gun religions and frail human works are not the answer; the mighty power of God is.
