Horse health, nutrition and wellness advice - theres an abundance - TopicsExpress

Horse health, nutrition and wellness advice - theres an abundance of it from all directions, often confusing & conflicting, and largely incorrect or misleading. Horse people are well documented for having a multi-source approach when it comes to seeking advice on their four-legged fur babies. My trainer said....my friend at the barn said her horse....but the guy at the feedstore said this... STOP the confusion and going round in circles!!!!! You are likely wasting your hard earned moola and more importantly, compromising your horses health and welfare at the same time. When asking people for ADVICE, first ask yourself this.... WHO ARE THEY? WHAT DO THEY KNOW? ...and then WHY? WHY? WHY?...never underestimated the power of the WHY question....because thats what horses do/eat/need or thats the way its always worked for me are not a satisfactory answers! Are they a QUALIFIED professional such as an Equine Scientist, Nutritionist, Behaviorist, Veterinarian, or Veterinary Technician/Nurse Nurse, that are professionally trained, accountable, and work in the field of keeping horses fit, well fed, and healthy? Can they give you straightforward answer based on solid science, research, and round them off a proven, practical track record? These ARE the people you should be asking for ADVICE from!! Everyone else is only giving you an OPINION!! Do not base place the health and welfare of your horse in the hands of someone elses opinions, as well meaning as it may be. Seek independent, qualified advice from a person that has you and your horses best interest at heart. Jx
