> Hosanna Hills Guide Service Fishing Report for Feb. 1 > Dragged on the rain gear and headed out to the gravel bar downstream from the Beaver Dam launch ramp. Trout were slow to act, but they did hit the gold spoons. Noticed that there was some surface activity a bit down river from the gravel bar, so after moving to a location where there was a straight line of underwater boulders running up and downstream about 20 yards off of the bank, I tried my luck. Turns out that there was a school of small brown trout on scene. They were fun, but not of a size one would want to keep. A drift fishing boat launched while I was there, and the fly fishermen on board seemed to be doing pretty good. When leaving, ran into a fly fisherman who was preparing to go out and fish. He indicated that he has been using dry flys and had been doing OK. That contradicts what I wrote yesterday, but if it works for you, use it! On the bait scene, yellow, rainbow and orange power bait has been working good. Just a note about yesterday. After completing the report I went out to Parker Bend and fished with bait. The fish were happy to take Grape Nymph, pink and yellow. My accomplishment of note was a rainbow trout which measured 3 1/2 inches. Would have taken a picture, but no zoom lens was available. > There is no generating scheduled for the day. The weather is predicted to stay wet and cloudy with the temperature slipping toward 20 degrees F. by 7 AM tomorrow. The wind is from the NE at 8 MPH. Have fun and stay dry!
