Hot Hob blues jam review 18-02-14 Very good crowd in to see this weeks guest, Malcom Smith. Good bunch of jammers too totalling 14, with a good balance of musicians. House Band - Malcolm Smith and the Hot Hob trio Jammers 14 Guitar 7 Mark Cottrel, Dave Warne, Kevin Best, Stevey, Aaron, Tony Myers, Matt Hunt Bass 2 Phil & Angelo Drums 3 Michael, Roger and Andy Vocals 1 Michael Parker Bongos 1 Clive A very warm Hot Hob welcome to Mark Cottrell first time at the jam. Nice to see Kevin back after a long absence. Malcolm took us through a opening set of classic blues songs from Magic Sams Easy Baby to Fleetwood Macs Rolling man There followed four band lead by Mark Cottrell, Kevin , Michael and finally myself to finish off the nights jamming. There was just time to get Malcom back for two more songs before the toll of midnight. The stage lights are still broke so, apologies for the poor photos and video. I do tell the Mike every week they need fixing. Many thanks to our wonderful team of helpers Jan, Serena , Dee & Alan. Our video operator Alan will be going into hospital on Thursday for a knee OP, so we wish him a speedy recovery. Next week is trio week followed the week after , the 4th March, by my 70th birthday bash.
