Stephen Bloom, R-Cumberland): Streamlines the teacher preparation and certification process for students aspiring to be teachers. HB 1623 (Rep. Joe Emrick, R-Northampton): Prohibits teacher preparation programs from requiring education students to obtain a passing score on a Praxis exam in order to graduate and from including a student’s score on the Praxis exam as a component on a student’s course grade. ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES AND ENERGY, 9 a.m., Room 39, East Wing HB 1672 (Rep. Ron Miller, R-York): Authorizes the Pennsylvania Department of General Services to test and implement new, environmentally beneficial and energy efficient technologies within state agencies. HR 425 (Rep. Ron Miller, R-York): Celebrates 25 years of successful recycling in the Commonwealth and directs the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to review its recycling programs and make recommendations for improving the recycling law. VETERANS AFFAIRS AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, 9:15 a.m., Room 205, Ryan Office Building HB 1285 (Rep. Bryan Cutler, R-Lancaster): Creates the State Geospatial Coordinating Board. HB 1632 (Rep. Jerry Knowles, R-Berks/Schuylkill): Authorizes a tax credit for private employers who allow an employee-volunteer to leave work for training or to respond to an emergency call, and proposes to protect employment rights of members of volunteer emergency service organizations. HB 1706 (Rep. Matt Baker, R-Bradford/Tioga): Increases the Volunteer Loan and Assistance Program loan amounts for volunteer fire and emergency medical services departments. HR 44 (Rep. Will Tallman, R-Adams/York): Encourages the National Fire Protection Association to consider the economic impact of any proposed changes to equipment standards. LOCAL GOVERNMENT, 10 a.m., Room 205, Ryan Office Building HB 1529 (Rep. Kate Harper, R-Montgomery): Amends the Second Class Township Code to allow for the electronic filing of enacted ordinances and authorizes the county to set up electronic storage of filed ordinances. HB 1530 (Rep. Kate Harper, R-Montgomery): Amends the First Class Township Code to allow for the electronic filing of enacted ordinances and authorizes the county to set up electronic storage of filed ordinances. HB 1617 (Rep. Peter Daley, D-Fayette/Washington): Authorizes executors or administrators of deceased tax collectors to settle unpaid taxes as the collector would have if still living. HB 1644 (Rep. John Taylor, R-Philadelphia): Amends the Municipal Authorities Act concerning business improvement district assessments. HR 168 (Rep. Thomas Caltagirone, D-Berks): Directs the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study concerning the consolidation or merger of Pennsylvania’s municipal police departments. HEALTH, Call of Chair, Room G-50, Irvis Office Building HB 1656 (Rep. Becky Corbin, R-Chester): Repeals Act 213 of 1984 which requires physicians to obtain a completed consent form from patients for treatment of breast disease. SB 358 (Sen. Bob Mensch, R-Bucks/Lehigh/Montgomery): Requires mammography facilities certified by the Food and Drug Administration to provide patients with information regarding their breast density.
