House Bill 150 has been introduced into the Delaware Legislature. Sponsored by Rep. Outten, R-Dist. 30, would establish a program for people who want to sell raw milk. Vendors would need to obtain state permits. The bill would require a person holding a permit to submit to inspections and post a visible notice that raw milk does not provide the protection of pasteurization. Delaware currently is one of 20 states that outlaw the sale or raw milk. There are about 50 dairies in Delaware, and all of them produce milk to be pasteurized.
