House Music - Diva - Evelyn Champagne King discovered as a young woman while working with her mother as an office cleaner. Producer Theodore T. Life overheard her singing in a washroom, this sista can sang :) he began coaching her & she was eventually signed to a production deal, as they say we all start from somewhere. Once she hit the disco world the dance floors were never the same, to her credit she has stood the test of time, from 1st debuting in 77 & on September 04, Kings Shame became one of the first records to be inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame, now that tells you the impact of that 1 record. Still performing, songwriting & touring, something unheard of in todays artistry as far as longevity! I use to love watching my mom getting down,playing her 12 record, miss those days, :)
