Houses that are For Sale By Owner save buyers a ton of money but people see something is FSBO and think I can get the seller to give up all their equity to me, so Ill offer drastically less than the asking price. First of all, how vain is that? Dont you think if they were going give away their life savings they may want to give it to their children or relatives? Second, the main reason sellers got the FSBO route is because they dont have enough equity to pay $18,000-$50,000 in realtor fees and another $6,000-$30,000 in closing costs. Third, would YOU take 10%-30% off your home and pay someone elses fees? We both know the answer to that. IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO BUY A HOME AND PAY THOSE REALTOR & CLOSING FEES, YOU ARE LOOKING IN THE WRONG PRICE BRACKET. Pay your own fees and look in the right price bracket.
