Housing starts predicted to rise by 20% during 2014 It seems like good news for landscape contractors as the RICS suggests construction will start on over 150,000 homes in England during 2014. Some say this has partly been helped by the governments help to buy scheme. New starts were increased by 20% in November 2013, compared with November 2012 and this progress is predicted to continue throughout 2014. While this is good news, the RICS state that this is still insufficient to address the rapid growth in population and there will still be shortfalls in all tenures.
