How Fayemi Lavished N604m Governor’s Lodge Furniture Facts are beginning to emerge that the immediate past governor might have actually broken the state coffers to provide state of the art comfort for himself and his family at the governor’s lodge of the new Ekiti State Government House, contrary to continuous denials from him and his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC. Governor Ayodele Fayose had raised the alarm that Fayemi wasted a whooping N3.3 billion to build a new government house in a state where hunger and poverty prevails. It also emerged that the former governor procured two beds for N50 million according information released by Fayose’s aides. Dr. Fayemi, who lost his re-election bid in June to the current governor, vehemently denied buying two beds for N50 million and also denied N3.3 billion naira bill for the new government house. His part also denied the charges. However a contract award letter released today showed that a company, Kitwood Nigeria Limited was awarded a contract in the sum of N604, 961,645.72 to furnish the governor’s lodge. The contract award letter, dated 18th of June, 2014, few days before the governorship election in the state, and obtained by DailyPost specifically directed the contractor to liaise with the office of the governor’s Chief of Staff to sign the contract agreement and obtain specifications of the items to be procured. These specifications might have included the now famous N50 million beds. These, sources say is against the normal practice, as the contractor was supposed to have liaised with the Ministry of Works for the same purpose. Below is a copy of the contract letter:
