How I Forget my Goals. bvint.blogspot.au/2013/07/how-i-forget-my-goals.html I’m extremely forgetful. If you ask me to do something, make sure I write it down, otherwise it will fly back out of my brain as quickly as it flew in. I often think of things at inopportune moments, then forget them at opportune moments. I keep a diary and lists and files, purely to combat my extremely bad memory. Remember your name? Forget it! I’ll remember your face, but you’ll have to remind me of your name, except if it’s the same as my mothers, or it’s particularly unusual, or it’s the seventh time I’ve met you. So, for me, remembering stuff is particularly difficult. Goals are something that should be remembered – they should be kept at top of mind constantly, so that you can make sure all the actions you take are goals-based. How do I remember my goals? I have a big poster on my wall in my office that I made, with pictures representing my goals, and the goals written on those pictures. It is all covered in sparkles, and when I sit at my desk, I have no choice but to look at it, read my goals, and smile. Another suggestion comes from Brian Tracey, in his brilliant book “The Power of Self-Confidence: Become Unstoppable, Irresistible, and Unafraid in Every Area of Your Life” – write down your goals daily in the present tense. Why? Because by doing this “they become clearer and stronger and take on a power of their own.” Other suggestions are visualisation, daily rituals and remembering why you set them. Do you have a special way that you remember your goals?
