How Saturday Morning TV has changed since i was a KID , i Used to do my Paper-round and Finish around 7-45AM it was Pay day too £2-50 burning a Hole im my Pocket , Immediately 37 1/2 pence was spent on a Quarter of the finest Toffees ever produced Rileys Chocolate Toffee Rolls Then it was Back on My Grifter and burned it home as fast as i could to get home before anyone else was Up for first dibs of Saturday Mornings 80s Television Fest !!! As i got in my Wonderful Dad would be still up after finishing his Night shift at Mullards and a Fresh Pot of Tea was steaming away on the Table sometimes he would make a Poached Egg on Toast or it was my Usual and Favourite a Bowl of Wheet-a-flakes , Dad would go to bed and even though it was 8AM i would still wish him Good night just as My Fav Program at the Time was Just Starting CHAMPION THE WONDER HORSE The Adventures of Ricky , Rebel and Champ under the Guidance of Uncle Sandy was ACE , BY this time i would hear Stirring from upstairs and was almost wishing no-one was getting up This was My Time as the Next Programme was about to Start Lal lal laa lal lal laa lal lal laa lal lal laa- 1 Banana -2 Banana 3 Banana 4..... THE BANANA SPLITS with Fleegle , Bingo , Drooper and Snorky including The Arabian Knights Size if an Elephant and The Three Musketeers and Not forgetting The Dilly Sisters- Ba da daa Bum de day by this Time MUM was up singing to herself in the Kitchen another Pot of Tea would be on the Table and Now the Toaster would be in Full Swing I could eat as much Toasted Blackpool Loaf as Quick as Mum could butter it I wernt getting up because i was in DADS chair and No way i was Losing it !! Next it was The Best Live entertainment show ever invented on this Earth TISWAS with its Madcap Mayhem and Anarchic Humour , Chris Tarrant , Sally James (Fit as) Lenny Henry and Bob Carolgees + Spit the Dog and Of Coarse the Phantom Flan Flinger with the best Guest Bands the 80s had to Offer Just what and more could an 80S Teenager ask for , Before you Knew it was 12-30 and World of Sport with Dickhead Davies or Grandstand on the Beeb with Frank BOFF lol this was my Que to go and Call for my Mates and off to town on Bus First stop was to buy 30ps worth of Piddy Peas for our Peashooters and Terrorize The Innocent shoppers of Blackburn before walking down the Bolton road to see the Blackburn Aces - This Morning Saturday 19th July 2014 i came down to The Hungry Sailors Followed by Miss Feckin Marple Just How lucky was we that was Brought up in 70s and 80s ? Happy Happy Days indeed -Least we Got YOUTUBE to reenact such fantastic memories
