If we cannot keep our own house in order how can we expect to spread the love and word of God with others outside who are constantly watching us, critically judging us and what we stand for, under a microscope. We are a reflection of and for the glory of God so we best get along according to his command and will. We are called to peace as members of one body united by Christ. Bickering has no place in the house of God and we must put aside our human differences for the good of the body as a whole. I have seen churches and relationships among fellow believers torn apart because they have allowed the petty emotions of humans to get in the way. We have been forgiven therefore we must forgive. God has provided a rock solid guide in six key verses on how we can accomplish peace, harmony and love within the body of believers. If we bind ourselves together by this guide then we can go forth into the world strong and confident that we are able to share the love of Christ with others. We must be whole within to be outwardly effective. Colossians 3:12-17 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
