How about cruising in circles around Shoneys and the Southern Drive In in the 60s. Going to Harveys drive in movies. Going to Bedford lake, swimming, picnics, those tall swings. Kennys burgers with that special tomato sauce. Riding the bus all around town, especially to go to the movies, shopping downtown. What was the store on Main, that we got our Stride-rites, esp. saddle oxfords? Penny loafers. Girls always wore dresses or blouses and skirts, never slacks, much less jeans to school. Dr. Morris on Fort Ave. Sidewalk skating. As mentioned, Fort Early library. Going the grocery store near Fort Hill drug store for your Mom and getting a pound of hamburger for ? (cant remember) or loaf of bread for a quarter. Anyone remember the most delicious spaghetti and salad at little place off Wardss Road, called Bill and Virginias? Would love the have the recipe for the dressing on that lettuce. They put in a huge spinning container. It was all take out and the best spaghetti ever.
