How about this...talk about an epiphany! (Please read I promise Im not beating a dead horse) Last year our catering company had the contract with the WM scenic RR. We did an incredible job...especially for our first year ever! Food was awesome and staff was simply incredible. We employed over 20 part time employees and paid over 70k in local salaries. When we got the contract we moved into a new, larger building and put over 35k in improvements and spent another 7k in specialty equipment and uniforms just for the train. When I found out in February we didnt get the contract and that it was awarded to an Augusta WV outfit I wrote to the commissioners and then went to a meeting. When I arrived Bill valentine handed me a letter from the new superintendent stating multiple deficiencies with the job we did and that is why we werent selected. Although it was total bullshit with exception of one incident because of my nephews wedding I spoke at the meeting and voiced even if they didnt want us why didnt they at least have to use a local contractor?? My question was never answered and I quietly, until now, went away. I didnt kill any dogs with my incompetency...hell we never spilled a drink!!! How is it no one stood up for us? But the Allegany County animal foundation, board and the direct administration and management failed in such a gross manner it is incomprehensible. What do you hear from our politIcians? Theyre making the necessary changes, lets let them fix whats broken. This is bullshit...we got fired for two reasons...one of which I brought up at that meeting months ago...for being a whistle blower for my female employees having to work in a hostile work environment and two for calling one of the board of directors to see if he could help get us paid when the RR owed us 20k and we couldnt pay our suppliers. How is it Animal Foundation is not being punished?? Ill tell you how....they are all in a circle...a circle of comfort. How about my now closed business and the tens of thousands I lost? Why is it Bill Valentine if me and my company was doing so much wrong, not ever on a single occasion werent we called in to discuss our performance? And almost everyone of my beautiful female servers who had to be groped and listen to your new leaders filthy remarks are teachers and professionals. I thought you should have that info if you think it might be an easy task to attack good ol food service employees. The county attorney was even at the meeting when is said Ill bring up the inappropriate comments the new superintendent made at some other time. My employees wanted me to push the issue and I really didnt think I could gain anything....well guess what...because of your crookedness I now have NOTHING to lose! Im sick to death of all the tourism promotion....how about bringing some good old fashioned jobs to Allegany county so our kids dont have to leave if they want to get a good job! How about that?? Bill Valentine, Mike McKay, Creade Brodie... Please anyone pass this on to any of the candidates for commissioner.
