How am I ever going to get my GF to agree to move back to the US and raise a family when everyone is shooting each other all the time and the cops can just kind of kill people and its cool? I stayed away from the Michael Brown case because even though I didnt like it and thought the Prosecutor was obviously not interested in treating it the way he would treat a case not involving a cop or young black man I could see how the Grand Jury could pass on the indictment but this Garner thing is indefensible. Not that the cop is guilty of a crime...but that every single fn human that isnt in a pointy hood burning crosses should be in agreement that he deserved a trial. Everyone needs to read The Divide by Matt Taibbi so you can get a little perspective on what its like to be black in NYC dealing with NYPD. Quick numbers. In 2011 NYPD Stopped and Frisked 685,000 people...no probable cause, just some good ole fashioned un-American stop and frisk. In a city where 44% of the people are white and 53% are black or brown...87% of the stop and frisk victims were black or brown. People wonder why cops can be looked at like the enemy...well, because policy sets them up as the enemy. Stop and Frisk, Arrest and ticket quotas, arrests for non violent and victimless crimes. Unbelievable. Thoughts are with this poor mans family who have had to watch this horrific video and listen to their loved one beg for help while those charged with protecting and serving him caused his death and then waited 7 minutes to even begin to try to save his life, a life that is every bit as valuable as mine.
