How bout this for Veterans Day... It feels like a lifetime ago that I completed my time in the Corps, and it was quite a life-changing experience in ways Ive never been able to adequately put into words. Lots of time spent dreaming about what I would do when I got out. As I reflect and muse through how to feel about the praise and thanks heaped on us this time of year, I am left grateful and inspired by the unique, brilliant, artistic, expressive, curious, ambitious, creative, openly loving and hard-working people in my life who didnt serve, but who are the reason that service was/is so necessary. To those of you who swallow life in large gulps, pushing through your own self-doubt and fear to make the difference you find most meaningful in this life: You are the Jewel of Society that military service was meant to protect, to allow to thrive. You are the reason for our service. So, yea, thanks for being worth the sacrifice.
