How can I not take up the #BookBucketChallenge when my dear lil kunjhi- my partner-in-crimes, my first ever reading mate, my all time favorite debate-opponent challenges me into this! ;) :D Mind you... unlike yours, it will not be an assorted neat and clean list.. yours... And yes! Its indeed going to be long, since I have a tough time ranking and filtering them off.. Cant stand to offend my own sentiments towards each book and the plethora of memories attached with it... Each book is a different world I lived in, a different journey I embarked on and I would rather not compare or rate them... So here you go... Harry Potter series, though not the best of it all, would take the first position, since it was almost like first love for me... Lord of the Rings - trilogy by JRR Tolkien whose name Id take with as much reverence as that of the authors of the Bible, Aleph, Alchemist, Devil and Miss Prym, Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho - the Modern day Apostle of insightful literary works, A hundred years of Solitude by the master of Magical Realism Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Every single thing from the irreplaceable Dan Brown - Digital Fortress, Deception point, Davinci Code, Angels and Demons, Lost Symbol, Inferno. PS, I love you, Where rainbows end, If you could see me now by Cecelia Ahern, A walk to remember by Nicholas Sparks, Black evening by David Morell, How to Kill a Mocking bird by Harper Lee, The Never-ending story by Michael Ende, A Thousand Splendid suns by Khaled Hossaini, Lajja by Taslima Nasrin, The Room by Emma Donnaughe, Color Purple by Alice Walker, Heretic Queen by Michelle Moran, Sybil by Rheita Schreiber, Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi, God of Small things by Arundati Roy, Ice Queen by Alice Hoffman, Dream Catcher by Stephen King, Perfume by Patrick Suskind, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Life after death by Deepak Chopra, I say Unto you by Osho, A brief History of time, Universe in a Nutshell and The Grand Design by Stephen Hawking, The Interpretation of dreams by Sigmund Freud, Miracles Happen by Brian L Weiss... Oh my! the list goes on and on!... ബോബി ജോസിന്റെ ഹൃദയവയൽ, വാതിൽ, സഞ്ചാരിയുടെ ദൈവം, നിലത്തെഴുത്ത്, ബാല്യകാലസഖി, സാറാ ജോസഫിന്റെ ആലാഹയുടെ പെണ്‍മക്കൾ - And its a sad realization that I have not done much justice to my mother tongues when the list of Malayalam books i would vouch for, is so puny compared to the staggering list of my all time favorites above!!! This was indeed a refreshing experience - like calling back the names of the dearest of our friends and relishing the memories I have shared with them.. Back to business... I am passing the baton on to umm... lets see Amina M Thaha, Aneesh Kadannappally, Mohammed Arshad, Gokul Vinayan, Riya Francis, Jibitha Prasad, Laya Blassy, Binu Tessy James, cause Im sure Ill see many works to be treasured, there in your list to add to my wishlist ;) :) :D... ok, you are on the clock now... :)
