How clean is your soul? If a man who was doing heavy labour, carrying rocks and sweating a lot came and sat next to you, would you feel comfortable? Now imagine he had been doing this for a week. No shower. No deodorant. He comes and sits by you. The stench would be unbearable. Unthinkable. Now imagine your soul if you only pray jummah salah and nothing else... Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allahs messenger saying, If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him? They said, Not a trace of dirt would be left. The Prophet added, That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds. (Sahih Al Bukhari) So the prayer is the river that we bathe our souls in 5 times a day. We see / hear / do so much filth in a day that it tires our soul and makes it dirty - the salah is the purification. Imagine that stinking man. Would you sit next to him by choice? So why are you allowing your soul to reach an even worse condition? May Allah rectify our affairs.
