Today the Gaian Road Team met an 11 meter long wild humpback whale near Vancouver, eye to eye, so close we thought she was begging us to pat her on the nose. The rule is to stay 100 meters away while watching, but she swam over, rolled on her back, drifted around us, stood on her tail with her nose in the air at the side of the boat, and doused us with fish breath while crisscrossing back and forth under the tourist boat for over an hour (which seemed to zip by in 5 minutes...).
