How did human beings get to the point where their level of compassion for others is almost non-exsistant? Sure, there is compassion for neighbors, associates, normal citizens in our town. But, when it comes to addicts, homless, and those suffering from mental illness, people are hostile, judgemental, and downright hateful. People are afraid of anyone or anything that is different than themselves. People in Our Town of Aberdeen are consumed with fear, so they lash out at people and things they dont understand, wishing them all to just leave town. And what if all the undesirables and outcasts did leave our town, what would we have left? Some scared people who have a high and mighty attitude, who somehow justify themselves as judge over all others. My post is not negative, its my take on things here. The truth is never easy to hear.
