How do YOU keep chicken water unfrozen? Ive been polling customers, and heres what Ive got so far. Non-Electric: 1. Have 2 waterers and switch them out as needed. 2. Heat stones in the oven and put near the spout of your waterer to keep the water flowing. Lasts a few hours. Electric: 1. Plastic plug-in waterer (weve had some bad reviews on these) 2. Heated base for metal waterers 3. Brood lamp placed close to waterer 4. Bucket deicer if youve got Chicken Nipple system 5. Homemade heated base (if you can find an incandescent bulb - plans available on line) 6. Heated pet bowl Do you have other ideas or input?
