How do you advise someone without coming off as Holier-than-thou? #ArtofConnection Many times we may find ourselves observing someone doing something that may not be good for them. Or, we simply want to give some constructive advice to an individual because it would potentially help them be a better person. When it comes to communicating with people, think about it like communication devices. There a transmitter, thats you. And a receiver, thats the person youre hoping to connect with. In order for the two to connect, there needs to be proximity, and they need to be on the same channel and frequency. If this is missing, then the message and advice will be lost. In order to tune into the appropriate human frequency, do a self check first. Do you really, genuinely, sincerely care about and love the individual as a human being? If you dont, then itll be apparent in the engagement. Youll come off as inauthentic and disingenuous. Start be being sincere if your engagement. Second, you need to know and understand if the person youre engaging with actually trusts you. Do they truly believe you have their best interest at heart? If the reception isnt strong, then your message and advice will be lost.
