How do you serve God in the act of loving one another and bringing people back to The Lord? Or do you just comfortably settle back and say thats the duty of the ministers and deacons? Well, you are right, it is their duty by as leaders to do this, but its also your duty and mine to love one another and to bring into the flock the lost sheep or individuals who have not heard the gospel. It weighs heavy on my heart to try to get the lost to listen to the gospel of salvation so that the may enter into baptism of the spirit and be saved through the blood of Christ. If I look around within my family and friends I have to be honest and say there are plenty of folks I love, but I have not witnessed to as I should. My shortcomings are leaving them out in the cold,so to speak. We believe the lie. It wants us to believe that leadership in our church is confined to a select pool of people who stand in front of the rest of us and are seen by many. The truth is that to lead is to wash the feet of another. To lead is to serve. It’s a laying down of self in exchange for the cross, joining in the story Jesus invited us into. Last winter, Trish Winters Sansom, whom I had not seen since high school, showed up at my door and after visiting me, proceeded to humbly wash and oil my feet. I was tremendously blessed by her selflessness. If she could do that for me, what was stopping me from reaching out to others in the same manner of serving? Nothing. So here I am each day, praying and begging you to come home and to accept God as your personal savior. And I know some of you are feeling that need to free yourself of sin and to return to the love of the Savior. Please dont delay. You may wait until its too late. So if you are a Christian, reach out and work your fields to harvest souls and do the work of Your Master by serving Him in witnessing to those who are lost. Please pray today, and praise God for you.
