How does Hempfield School Disctrict have a $6+ Million budget deficit? Didnt they just build several new school buildings costing tens of millions if not over $100 Million combined? (And they all kind of look like prisons...) Maybe they should have raised the cash first, then built the buildings....and maybe the kids could continue to learn in the old buildings until that happens....but now they want to possibly cut out extra-cirricular activities or most likely fire current teachers and cut retired teachers pensions...diminishing the overall educational experience...what a joke. It is fascinating how Hempfield and Manhiem Twp - the two wealthiest disctricts around make such foolish budget choices. Maybe schools should have more classes on money topics so future generations dont make the same mistakes?
