How does it affect my prospects after a PhD, if my PhD project has a heavy component of experimental work with a small component of analysis/theoretical work. The project involves developing a novel experimental setup. If I apply for faculty position afterwards at Indian Institutes, will my profile be viewed unfavorably due to lack of experience on the theoretical side? Is it always better to have either a totally theoretical background or a balanced mix of both theoretical and experimental background?
