How is SN different from US conservatism? Apart from our desire for independence from what we view as a destructive system which opposes our interests, we also take a different position relative to the powerful forces that are reshaping society. US conservatism accepts the underlying principles behind those forces (equality, Progress, democracy, etc) but seeks to slow down the change or influence it. Whereas we also represent a potentially powerful force for change but one which rejects the underlying principles upon which the current age (Modernity) rests. The change we seek is far more consistent with the nature of mankind and will allow for a sustainable system - which the present systems values do not. We are not trying to conserve the present. Nor are we trying to return to a past golden age. Instead we seek to build a better tomorrow that is consistent with the true nature of man which we find to be expressed in the values discarded by Modernity. And we are inspired in our approach in putting these values into practice by the culture and history of our people.
