How many loads of laundry do you do a week on average? (Thank you Gynelle Baccus for the photo.) Ive read that the average cost to dry a load of clothes is less than $1 (3.3 kilowatt hours of energy at 30 cents per kilowatt hour - varies by location). At 3 loads per week over the course of a year that would add up to a $150 savings per year. Plus you wont need expensive softener sheets or repair/replace of an electric dryer. There is something so deliciously country about clothes drying on the line, especially when they come in smelling of all that fresh air....ahhh, I can smell it now!
