How many of you know that Tamil has been the foundation of most languages in the world? Many of us do not realize, or just choose to ignore one of the greatest civilizations in human history. How many of us know anything about Ancient Lemuria or Kumari Kandam, the submerged continent which is proven by scientists already. How many of you know that Cholas, Pandiyas and Cherans, the greatest empires of ancient India, had been the basis of most civilizations in the world we know now? Read up, people. The acts of some irresponsible people has given a very false impression of our culture and religion. Many if us dont know the scientific facts hidden in great texts like Thirumurai and Thiruvasagam. Great idols like Baba ji and Gauthama Buddha harnessed the cosmic energy through true devotion and thats how they lived for hundreds of years. But what are we doing with those knowledge? Nothing! There is science in every religious practice yet we deem it uncivilized because some people are misusing it. Yogis and rishis practiced it in the right way, and thats how they were able to a attain moksya. Modern theories like gravity and Darwinism have been scripted in our ancient texts and literature, which we failed to preserve. The speed of light, mass of atom, the planetary arrangement and the movement of cosmic bodies, look it up in the Vedas, its there. Vedas are the most perfect science book you can ever find on Earth. Great minds like Aryabhatta and Bhaskaracharyas contributions to science and mathematics are being studied by the westerners, but not us. Shusrata performed the earliest surgeries of the seven main branches of medicine. While people were afraid of seas rage, we were the ones built dams and barriers for shipment. Do I even have to talk about structured drainage and organized settlement system? Science, technology, medicine, architecture, astronomy, trade, civilization, you name it, Indians would be in its history. Do more reading people, and you will understand how rich our culture was. We taught culture to the world, we brought civilization to the world, but now? Are you proud or ashamed of being an Indian? Ask yourselves. I am not being racist or religious here. Its just the knowledge our ancestors left behind for us are being wasted, by our own people. Before boast that you are an Indian, make sure you know your history, and appreciate it.
