How many of you ladies are old enough to remember the thick cotton stockings the girls had to wear to school? I remember one particular day, in 4th grade, we had been playing hard on the playground at recess--I was hot--unhooked them from my homemade garter belt and rolled them down to my ankles. Forgot to hook them back up and when we came back to the classroom Fr. Gettlefinger was there. He called me to the front of the class,ripped me a new one over showing my legs and said You are a Johnson arent you--and not in a questioning way but as a fact. I never said a word but remember well thinking--Go ahead, call Mrs. Johnson and tell her , her bad daughter showed off her legs today! My Mom will never know. LOL
