How many of you that went to church this morning can remember the topic of the sermon you heard? Its been 2 hours since you heard it... Not many can. Once we walk out the front doors and head to the local restaurant for Brunch, we forget what the sermon was about. It becomes fuzzy and then lost completely in our short term memory. I think its all about being present in the moment, and not letting our minds wander or daydream while the sermon is being presented. Some morsels that I remember from the service this morning, dont be boastful, be humble. That old men would have dreams, and the young would have visions. That our thrashing floors would be full, and the vessels of wine and oil would be full. And most of all, how our church could best serve its community. Now these snippets may not mean much without the full context of the sermon, but to those that were present there today, perhaps it would jog our memories, and digest in our brains. Much like the lunch we just ate is digesting in our tummys... Try to hold on to the insights, and wisdom you are blessed with every week. I try to write down important things I learn, so I dont forget them. Because surely come Monday they are all gone if I dont. :) Todays words of wisdom from Neil.. :)
