How many people want to back transfer to their home First Nation but cannot because of a membership freeze? I was sitting here thinking of this when this video was shared on my Facebook home page. I want to come back home to my home First Nation of The Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. Most people knew me as Jenny Deleary. I heard my request was denied due to a membership freeze and I have to wait until a membership code is passed. This could take years. I go to Council meeting tomorrow at 6pm to hear the decision. I wonder if anyone else is trying to transfer back home, if so, I would be interested in hearing your story and/or any supportive comments. Gchi miigwetch. I agree they seriously do need 2 fix their code. Personally. .I think they got it all backwards..when ppl vote ppl in2 office..they do so 4 the thoughts their rep will support & protect the best interests of the ppl..not an imposed arm of govt. Would it help if others went 2 mtg..2 offer u a show of support? about an hour ago · Unlike · 1 Jennifer Jewell Ahneen Auntie, I am very grateful for your words of encouragement. This ordeal is taking its toll on me and my sons. I have been talking to people and many are afraid to speak out and I dont blame them. I would not want to lose my job either or receive less services for speaking out. Funny, my slogan when I ran for Chief of Rama was Silent no more and so I know this all too well that speaking out ends you up on the invisible black list which is oppression of our most intellectual minds that can actually help us get out of the state of affairs many of our First Nations are facing. By all means, anyone wanting to show me support this evening are more than welcome to be there at 6:00 pm and feel free to interject if you think of any idea that may assist in my cause to simply return home. I love you and all my relations.
