How many seats will MIM win? How many seats will MIM win in Maharashtra Assembly elections? This is the question I’m asked wherever I go these days. Be it a gathering of media persons or a my ‘tapori’ friends. A family function or random meetings with enthusiastic strangers in markets or elsewhere. I’m encountered with this query. People are curious. Optimistic too. While I dont have any specific number to satisfy their curiosity, I’m enjoying their views and comments. Some are interesting. Some are worth a smile. Crazy people. I must say. “If MIM get more than 10 seats, my belief will strengthen that Asaduddin Owaisi will become India’s Prime Minsiter in the next 10, 15 years”, an innocent relative of mine told. I didn’t have anything to offer than a smile on this. “If they succeed in Maharashtra, their next target will be UP,” a friend predicted on the plans of Owaisis and MIM. That sounded sensible. “Firasat bhai, be ready to move to Mumbai. They need a news paper from there after their success in Maharashtra”, a friend opined. Oops. Jitne mu utni batain, as they say in Urdu. I don’t want to be judgemental here. To all those curious ones out there, what all I can say is the camp is optimistic. They are hopeful.
