“How many times have you stood in the mirror and looked at - TopicsExpress

“How many times have you stood in the mirror and looked at yourself critically? I think we’ve all been guilty of letting that negative self-talk flow from time to time. It might be a slightly different tune, but the song is always the same. “I’m too short, I’m too tall, I’m too thin, I wish my nose were a different shape, I don’t like how my eyes look …” On and on it goes. The most common self-criticism we have of our bodies, I suspect, is “I’m too fat”. Can you see how throwing all of this negative energy at your body is self-defeating? Can you see how when you ask your body to start loosing some weight it may not be primed to do so? You spend all this time criticizing it and now you want it to do” “something for you? How do you break out of this destructive habit? Here’s what I want you to do. Simply stop and think about all of the amazing and positive things your body does for you right now. I want you to realize how fantastic your body is TODAY. Are you glad that you have two eyes that work? Can you hear beautiful songs with your ears? Do your legs work? Aren’t you glad you have them? How about your arms? Can you taste? Can you touch? Whatever you have, know that there are people who exist in this world who do not enjoy the pleasure of these things. You body is amazing today. Love it today.” David Nordmark- Lose weight
