How much did you dislike Disco? On July 12, 1979, the WLUP-FM Chicago morning radio show of Steve Dahl and Garry Meier held a little party at Comisky Park in Chicago between games of a White Sox double header. It was a radio station promotion along with the White Sox called Disco Demolition. Neither WLUP ( The Loop) or the White Sox expected there to be so many people. During the between game break they did their show and then blew up some Disco records. The explosive charge was a little bigger than expected and the anti-disco fan decided to take over the playing field. The field was left in such bad shape the White Sox had to forfeit the 2nd game. Dahl and Meier did prove one thing for certain. Chicago Rock and Roll fans did not like disco. You know were going to ask……..
