How often do we look at others and judge them unkindly? Maybe we just do it in our minds or behind their backs, so we think its no big deal because no one really notices. Maybe its a fun pass time to point out people in Walmart that are different than us. My family and I have been caught in this trap before, and I found that it did a lot more damage than I realized. Not only do people sense when were are not thinking or feeling kind things, but it destroys something inside of us. It destroys our humanity. We decided to make a change in our family. Now when we are tempted to judge, we try to come up with possible stories that explain why someone would be in a bad situation or have a different appearance. This has helped us to feel empathy and caring for others. It has changed the spirit in our home and inside of me.
