How press gainey will ruin hospitals............ My opinion is that patients do not know when they have received good care. They think good care equates with their nurse being nice and whether or not they get what they want when they want. Most of the time giving them what they want and when is the opposite of good care. And nice has nothing to do with anything. I have known many nice nurses who took the time to talk to their patients who were completely incompetent and made error after life threatening error. Which as down to the fact that they were taking the time to be nice and compassionate rather than staying focused and doing what they were supposed to be doing.
