How sad that the Supreme Court has no desire to allow - TopicsExpress

How sad that the Supreme Court has no desire to allow long-standing court precedents to stand in spite of the promises made by Chief Justice Roberts during his vetting by the US Senate during his confirmation hearings. IMHO what the SCOTUS did today with the Hobby Lobby decision made completely along party lines will likely accelerate the destruction of Democracy as we knew it for over 200 years. Giving corporations the rights of individuals and the ability to object to valid federal laws on the basis of religious objections is completely mind blowing. This can lead to things like, ‘I am a Christian and therefore have a religious objection to the hiring of Jews, Muslims, gays, African-Americans,” or “I refuse to serve gays, African-Americans or Jews at my place of business due to religious objections.” We are witnessing what I believe to be the destruction of the fundamental rights given to people, not legal business entities, in the constitution that will ultimately lead to what I believe could easily become complete chaos in major metropolitan areas, the imposition of marshal law and the next American Revolution.
