How the Left fall for the scam… if these people are from India then they are NOT seeking asylum nor are they genuine refugees. They claim ‘’We have come to Christmas Island because we don’t have anything” well as sad as that is that’s country shopping so at best they could be labelled economic refugees. Interesting how they had the phone numbers of the refugee activists of the far Left here in Australia, now that’s forward planning. Unfortunately for them they forget to check who won the last election. The current government isn’t into being scammed like Labor seemed to be. According to the 2011 Census 200,000 Indians have arrived in Australia between 2001-11 and not by dodgy boats so we obviously seem to have no issue with Indian’s migrating here. This being the case you have to ask yourself why would these people choose this dangerous, unnecessary option? There could be many reasons, some genuine perhaps, others not so genuine but of course they won’t have passports so we’ll have no real way of knowing who they really are and what they’re really fleeing (like possibly criminal records). In any case I say again - if these people are from India then they are NOT seeking asylum nor are they genuine refugees so send them home and let them apply to migrate here like the other 200 odd thousand Indians before them.
