How to Juice Muscadine Grapes Wash fruit thoroughly and place in stainless steel pot. Cover with water (no bleach is best and if you allow tap water to sit overnight the bleach will evaporate out) and bring berries gently to a boil. Immediately reduce heat to low, place lid on pot and simmer for 15 minutes til fruit is soft. Run fruit through a ricer/sieve to remove pulp and seeds. 1 quart of fruit makes 2 cups of juice~1 gallon makes 8 cups of juice. ***With the juice/pulp you can make muscadine jam or strain juice/pulp through a jelly bag to remove all particles (not as nourishing) and make jelly. Follow the directions on the sure-jel box. You may choose to freeze the juice and make the jam at another time. Be sure to label the container. Yesterday I picked elderberries and juiced them last night. Today I am making elderberry jam. Be safe and God bless.........Lou J.
